Oil condensing:when there is no gas grid.

For outlying properties and farms without a gas connection — modern condensing technology instead of a 30-year-old boiler. With an honest future outlook.

Oil condensing in the Western Palatinate — who it is still relevant for

They are still common in our region: houses in outlying areas, resettled farms and districts where no gas grid exists and none is coming. Anyone heating there today with a 25-year-old oil boiler is giving money away — modern oil condensing technology like the Vaillant icoVIT uses the condensation heat of the flue gas, just like gas, and typically cuts consumption by 10 to 15 percent, with noticeably cleaner combustion.

In many cases the existing tank can continue to be used; we check its condition, containment and limit values right at the on-site appointment. And we also tell you honestly when switching to a heat pump pays off despite an oil past — especially without a gas grid, it is often the stronger alternative, with a state grant.

An honest assessment

Pros and cons — no sugar-coating.

Points in favour of oil condensing

  • Independent of the gas grid — supply in your own tank
  • 10–15% savings compared to an old non-condensing boiler
  • Proven, robust technology with a long service life
  • Existing tank often still usable
  • Hybrid-ready: can be combined with a heat pump

Points against

  • No state subsidies
  • Oil price fluctuates strongly — plus a rising CO₂ price (EU emissions trading from 2027)
  • The bio quota also applies to oil: mandatory from 2029, rising to 60% (2040)
  • Tank needs space and regular inspection
  • Higher CO₂ emissions than any alternative
Our recommendation

Oil only with a plan B.

We install oil condensing where it is the most pragmatic solution — but always with the next 20 years in mind:

  • Bridge solution: broken boiler, no gas grid, limited budget — the icoVIT keeps the house reliably warm.
  • Hybrid path: oil condensing plus heat pump — the heat pump covers most of the load, oil only the coldest days.
  • Check a direct switch: without a gas grid, a heat pump is often the more economical choice — we calculate it transparently, subsidies included.

What customers ask us about oil heating.

Realistically, gas condensing replacements start at around €7,000; a heat pump incl. hydraulics and buffer tank starts at around €20,000 before subsidies — state grants can noticeably reduce the costs (current conditions: subsidy check on our financing page). After a short on-site survey you receive a transparent quote from us — billed by actual effort.
